Each Ski Painting is comprised of two canvases divided by a painted or mirrored edge and features a champion ski jumper in a moment of sky flying or defeat. This series investigates the notion of pure ecstasy as suggested by Werner Herzog in the film The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner (1974).
