The
3-stripe paintings have hand-constructed, three-dimensional frames (or fragments of a frame) that set off an atmospheric space. The striping is
loosely based on the Adidas stripe, a ubiquitous symbol of speed and endurance.
The visual speed of the stripes counters the blurry layers in the paintings,
speeding up the fast marks and slowing down the slow ones.
