The first edition Blur paintings, made from alkyd paints on marine vinyl, were inspired by celestial and planetary motifs and a desire to describe a feeling of invisibility. They are hazy and atmospheric, hovering in states of suspension, with their wooden supports visible. Bits of text taken from car culture and surf graphics combine to form concrete poetry; a way of sending messages to the viewer as if from another dimension, or from space.
